At oudyo, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and join our waitlist.

Scope of this notice. Oudyo's music navigation product (the app/API for searching your recordings) hasn't launched yet. This notice covers only your visit to this website and your waitlist signup. Once the product launches, a separate privacy notice will cover how we handle your data when you use the product, and we'll link to it from here.

Analytics & Cookies

We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics provider, to understand how visitors use our site and improve your experience.

What We Collect

If you accept analytics, we may collect:

• Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
• Which buttons or links you click (specific, manually tracked events only)
• General location (country level, derived from your IP address, which is not stored)
• Device type and browser information
• How you found our site (referrer/UTM data)

What We Don't Do

• We don't sell your data to third parties
• We don't use your data for advertising
• We don't track you across other websites
• We don't store your IP address
• We don't build user profiles or use blanket autocapture — only specific events are tracked
• We don't record your session (no session replay)
• We don't set a persistent analytics cookie — PostHog keeps data in memory only for the duration of your visit

Your Choices

Analytics only runs if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you click "Reject," or take no action, PostHog is never loaded and no analytics data is collected. Your choice is remembered across pages and future visits.

If you've already made a choice and want to change it, you can clear your browser's local storage for this site and refresh the page to see the banner again.

Our analytics provider (PostHog) stores this data on servers located in the EU, and retains it for 90 days before deleting it.

Data We Collect

Waitlist Sign-up

When you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you provide. We use this solely to:

• Notify you when oudyo is ready to launch
• Send occasional updates about our progress (you can unsubscribe anytime)

If you accepted analytics, your email is one-way hashed (SHA-256) before being associated with your analytics activity, so we can connect your website visits to your signup without storing your email in our analytics tool in readable form.

Who We Share Data With

• PostHog (analytics provider, EU-hosted) — receives the analytics events described above, but only if you accepted the cookie banner.
• Email service provider — used to send waitlist confirmation and update emails.

We do not share your information with any other third party.

How We Protect Your Data

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
